FARM PLANNING TOOL

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Caribbean Climate Hub (CCH) created the Farm Planning Tool. This tool is an interactive map where users can obtain a quick summary of spatial information on soils, climate, hydrology, and topography for any terrain.

The USDA CCH makes no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding these data, nor does the fact of distribution constitute such a warranty. The USDA CCH cannot assume liability for any damages caused by any errors or omissions in these data. If appropriate, the CCH can only certify that the data it distributes are an authentic copy of the records that were accepted for inclusion in the Farm Tool data layers.

All data collected will meet the requirements of the Geospatial Data Act of 2018 where applicable. This will always include the documentation of all relevant metadata standards, use of standard data formats; description of quantitative measures of uncertainty and sources of uncertainty associated with the data. Additionally, the data must meet specific standards specified elsewhere to ensure the data is useful to support USDA’s mission.

The USDA CCH is supported by the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF). The geospatial data collection for the tool was conducted in the USDA Forest Service, IITF Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System Laboratory in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Further analysis to summarize the spatial information for each report was conducted by ThinkaMap, professional company (PC).

The USDA CCH cannot provide any warranty as to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of furnished data. Users assume responsibility to determine the usability of these data. The CCH has kept the sources' accuracies and uncertainties. Unless otherwise stated, all data and related materials are considered to satisfy the quality standards relative to the purpose for which the data were collected. However, neither the author, nor any part of the federal government can assure the reliability or suitability of these data for a particular purpose. All data sources have been published on each of the spatial layers. To obtain more information about the uncertainty and other metadata details, please refer to each of the data producers.

The act of distribution shall not constitute any such warranty, and no responsibility is assumed for a user’s application of these data or related materials. This map, data, or related materials may be updated without notification.
